The last day in Bangkok is almost over and Gordon and I are preparing for our respective flights. Gordon’s plane to Berlin will leave Bangkok shortly after midnight while I have to wait until 6:45 AM in the morning to leave Bangkok for Hanoi. I had mixed up my flight times earlier, which left me thinking that I would leave at 9:45 AM. This resulted in me booking (and paying a deposit for) a room that I now won’t have the chance to take advantage of. Flying internationally at 6:45 AM would require me to get up at 3:00 AM or so to get to the airport and that really does not sound like something I would enjoy. Therefore I made the decision to spend my first night at an airport. Don Muang.
Many people might cringe over the thought of sleeping at an airport but I am actually looking forward to it. With a bit of luck I will have a plug for my laptop and a free Wi-Fi connection (if I get the Nok Air staff to give me a booking number to log into their wifi system), so the time will hopefully pass quickly by watching Breaking Bad, Arrested Development and reading a bit.
My Amazon Kindle is already fully charged, I will change into long sleeved clothes in order to not get a cold from the air condition and I got a few bags of clothes to use as a pillow. I think that should suffice for the 7 to 8 hours that I have there. My personal worst case scenario would be that the airport either closes or does not have any plugs. In that case I will have to get really creative, lets hope it does not come to that.
I will update you about the night tomorrow when I have hopefully made it to Hanoi.
Yours
Crazy Ivory
