I haven’t travelled since returning from Asia and the travel bug already started catching me again. Therefore its certainly the right decision and timing to head out to new destinations now. This time, my country of choice is Scotland, for two reasons:
Firstly, I got invited to stay there by a very good friend of mine. I have the chance to stay with him and use his place as a headquarter to explore the area from.
Secondly, after visiting Scotland for the first time in 2009, the countries beautiful panaroma and nature stuck in my mind. That time, I only visited two cities there, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and even though cities are more or less the same in every country (loads of people, loads of cars, less nature to be discovered) I could already sense how much more this place had to offer.
Now I finally go back. This time I hope to get a much broader impression of the countries unique features, especially the castles and landscapes.
After two nights in London I will make my way up to Aberdeen, which is where I will stay with my friend. Once I’m there, I will begin to plan the coming 4 weeks. I don’t have my concept figured out just yet, I don’t even know which means of travelling there are in that area but I hope to be able to not only get a peek into fantastic nature but also to get to more rural areas of the country.
In order to keep my backpack as light as possible, I won’t take a laptop and therefore won’t be able to blog. But be sure to get the whole story once I am back home, with lots of photographs in my bag hopefully.
Enjoy summer!
Yours
