As the last hours are counting down, the sun over Bangkok has setted already and the night markets are being prepared for yet another working night. I am in the middle of all this and can’t help it. I am starting to reflect on the most eventful couple of months in my life.
Its been quite a ride. Oh so many kilometers, people and experiences made the time valueble and unforgettable for me. Apart from all the memories, I am taking home close to 30.000 photographs. The camera was the only constant element of the past six months and it helped me capture images that are unique and special, certainly for me but perhaps also for others out there.
Funny enough, I am sitting in the same hostel, on the same sofa that I wrote my very first Asia article on. When I arrived, this hostel was the gateway to a new city, a new country, a new continent. I was full of expectations and at the same time without any knowledge of what I was getting myself into. I was highly motivated, excited and ready to go. Now I am sitting here and writing these words. The circle has closed and the Asia Advenventure is over for now.
I am not regretting going home now. There is more than enough to look forward for me. Also, I am happy to finally have the time to process all the impressions I have gathered over the past half year. It’s been a lot, almost too much to be honest. I feel as if I would be oversaturated with new experiences for the first time in my life. Leaving this place for home is therefore a good decision.
Khop Khun Khap, Khob Chai, Aw Khun and Cam On Asia. You have been a great host, scary at some moments, hilarious at others. Coming here was the right decision, THANK YOU.
I am off now to board a plane to Copenhagen, where I will be spending a week of holidays (thank god that I finally get some time to rest ) before heading to Berlin. I am expecting Copenhagen to freak me out, especially in terms of prices, temperatures and its lack of motorbikes. Let’s see.
Yours
