…but don’t really feel like writing about it. Please don’t get me wrong, the city is surprisingly cool and interesting, but for some reason I don’t feel like blogging about it.
I am quite sure that this feeling is independent of my current location and much rather caused by my upcoming return home. The feeling of being here is not the same anymore, its entirely different from how the last couple of months felt. Also, I haven’t really used my camera much in the past week or so, which is very very unusual for me. Normally I was shooting at least 50 frames a day, without exception.
Being here in Ho Chi Minh is nice though. I spend my days almost exclusively by wandering around the city center, looking for cool shopping opportunities. I am planning to throw away the t-shirts and pants that I wore over and over again in the past couple of months and to buy new jeans, shoes, shirts and and and here. In my normal life I am not much of a shopping person but due to the low prices and great diversity of offers here, its actually quite fun. And if I do it the right way, I won’t have to buy any new things for the next year or so =)
Apart from that the city is certainly the craziest place I have seen on my trip. The traffic situation is pure rampage, even more extreme than Hanoi. The city centre is an interesting mix of skyscrapers and run down blocks that keep exploring the city exciting. Altogether I can say with certainty that HCMC is the perfect place to end my trip. Its an extreme place in various ways and offers an enormous amount of impressions, that will take me a while to process.
I am staying here until my flight to Bangkok on Thursday. Lets see what else this city has in store for me.
Yours
