Its crazy how incredibly subjective “time” can be.
There are things or events, that feel like they have happened months ago,
when they actually happened several years ago.
Sometimes its also the other way around,
you feel like some memories are already years old when they came into being only a handful of months ago.
My 3 year DSLR anniversary is of the second kind.
Even though three years is a already pretty long time,
it doesnt feel like its been only three years.
Photography changed my life in such a way
and to such an extent that I can really, literally, not imagine to live without it.
Exactly three years back from today, at June 28th 2008, I bought it…my Canon EOS 400D!
The holy grail, unbelievably cool and professional…in my eyes.
Before starting with this, I was without a hobby, without a task.
I wasted my time without doing anything with a sense and a meaning.
Through a lucky coincidence I got in touch with photgraphy
and the rest of the story can be seen here or on Flickr.
Photography opened my eyes
I feel that photography opened my eyes for my environment,
got me in contact with some of the most wonderful people I ever met,
generated my interest in foreign cultures and travelling
and made me even more open minded and extroverted than I ever thought I would be.
It simply gave me a task and a way
to convert the creative energy in me into something that not only I,
but many people around the world enjoy.
That makes me happy and motivates me to go on.
And BTW: My icon picture was one of the first shots I ever took with a DSLR.
Its still a wonderful photographical selfportrait and I enjoy it that this image still accompanies me,
and that I still like it.
What I like most about it, is that most people only recognize the lens,
but if you look close enough you can find one of my eyes in the dark areas of the shot.
Its a indistinct selfportrait, thats the kind I like best.
Thats it for today, but I somehow felt like including a nice, motivational quote:
A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.- Eudora Welty
Peace out
Hello dear Followers, Photo Enthusiasts, Fans and Strangers.
Some of you may know my blogging history, some of you may not.
I blogged for two years, topics and frequency varied a lot, but I think I had some real bad ass followers and helped at least some people with the tips I gave or the “Behind the scenes” shots, that I published.
Nevertheless, at some point, I stopped blogging.
I did not feel it anymore, and the blog abandoned.
I think it was for various reasons, but a pretty big one was that I was not happy with the way of presentation. The blog was unprofessional, not really personalized and more or less…UGLY!
Now, after a good year of not-blogging, I am back at it and highly motivated.
I created this website with the help of some very good friends, Ole and Leif, Henry, Mandy.
I love the look and feel of this, and I feel that I am presented the way I wanna be.
In connection with this blog, I also started using some new means of social media (only new for me, mind you).
I am now represented on Flickr(as always), 500px and Facebook.
Feel free to add and connect with me if you like, I want to get closer in contact with the people who follow me, and I want to meet many more awesome photographers through these new ways.
So like me, add me, write me, comment on me, whatever the hell you want.
I will blog here as often as I can, so please come back from time to time to check my updates.
AND I will of course start again with posting Behind and After Shots of my Photography.
Thats it for this moment, thank you for your time and attention!
